Despite the hurtful comments and isolation, Karine de Souza never lost hope for a bright future for herself. Her story caught a man’s attention, so he decided to reach out to her — it was a decision that changed everything.
What started as a simple act of kindness blossomed into something beautiful. Theirs is a love story that defied the odds. Sadly, it was not without challenges.
Karine de Souza’s life was anything but easy. From the tender age of three, she was diagnosed with Xeroderma Pigmentosum, a rare skin condition that made her vulnerable to skin cancer.
To protect herself, she had to cover herself with SPF100 sunscreen every two hours, even indoors with closed curtains. This meant that Karine was often isolated from the outside world. She was bullied and ridiculed by people who didn’t understand her condition, and she felt like an outcast in her society.
For a long time, Karine believed she would never find love. She had been ostracized her entire life and thought that no one could accept her for who she was. But fate had other plans for her. One day, she met Edmilson through social media, and everything changed. The woman revealed:
“He sent me a friend request, and I accepted, but I didn’t realize I was about to meet the great [love] of my life.”
People questioned the legitimacy of their relationship, and some even suggested that Edmilson was only with Karine for her money. Others called her nasty names and said she was a “monster,” “deformed,” and a “zombie.”
But despite the criticism and the hurtful comments, Edmilson stood by Karine’s side. He knew what he felt in his heart. He knew Karine was the one for him and would do whatever it took to prove it.
An Instagram user agreed that the tot was “A princess,” and another concurred, “What a beautiful princess.” Commenters added, “Very perfect,” “So beautiful, oh my god,” “Very beautiful,” and “What a beautiful girl, looks like a doll.”
“She is perfectly beautiful, may GOD bless you greatly,” one wrote, which was echoed in the comments: “But it’s beautiful as you say;” “Wow, what a big and beautiful baby;” and “Wow, she has an attitude 6 months already. A lot of girl, beautiful, strong look.”
